My Perfect World

The only thing I hate about this world is the way that the environment is treated.  For example the blockbuster movie “The Beach” was filmed on a beautiful beach in Thailand but the camera crew ruined the beach and some creatures died too.

Instead of getting all these fancy materials that are made in factories that might cause fumes.  Express yourself, make a suit or even a hat out of rubbish, you might not wear it down the street, but at least it helped the environment.

My perfect world will be one with air as fresh as a mountain river and golden sunsets with deep blue seas and treasurous sand.

Have you ever seen those art sculptures made entirely out of Nature?  Leaves, twigs and stones.  Why don’t you have a go at making one?

Did you know that you can make musical instruments out of pure Nature?

When our plans for the future have developed we hope we should see a massive improvement with the environment.

Sometimes we just feel like dropping our litter, believe me.  I know, i’ve done it.  But now its all changed I have realised that there is more than one way to get rid of rubbish.

We hope you understand our message.

What are we doing to our environment?

Today, we are all gathered here from many different schools to talk about the environment, there are many ways of helping the environment, also there are many ways of destroying it.  Lets look at some positive and negative examples, to be honest the world is’nt so bad, but trust me its getting worse by the second, life will be getting duller until finally everything is destroyed, if we don’t stop and look at how we can imrove it, and also recognise how we may have been destroying it.

Could Bolton ever become a seaside town?  The answer is YES it could.  With temperatures changing, and sea levels rising we see more flooding, rivers are bursting their banks, the seasons are changing, summers are later, winters are warmer.  On top of that wild creatures are loosing their habitat at an alarming rate, it is indeed a scary prospect.  We as species, and on top of the food chain are ruining our world, for us and every living thing.

What can we do to reverse this trend?  Impossible, I hear you say!  Well I say it’s not. Yes it’s a global problem, but we each can make a difference and as children we have a responsibility to force change.

This is our world, and we are the future!

Start at home. Try to encourage our parents and schools to fit energy saving lights, and this one for us kids, remember to turn them off.  Use recycling bins, I know this takes extra time, but it’s worth it.  There’s plenty of these at our supermarkets, don’t drop litter.  Each school could organise a clean up campaign, maybe plant a tree, one for each pupil in their school.

Let’s start the new millennium the right way, let’s save the world and keep the future bright.

The world needs the kiss of life!

Love the world, and she will love us back!

Kathryn
